DESCRIPTION:Title: Streaming Real-Time Analytics of Dynamic Data in Smart G
rids\n\nPresenter: Dr. Le Xie - Associate Professor and Eugene Webb Facult
y Fellow\, Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering\, Texas A&M U
niversity\n\nABSTRACT :\n\nHow to conduct real-time analytics of streaming
data in the smart grid? This talk offers a dynamic systems approach to ut
ilizing emerging data for improved monitoring of the grid. The first examp
le of the talk presents how to leverage the underlying spatio-temporal cor
relations of synchrophasors for early anomaly (e.g.\, subsynchronous oscil
lations) detection and data quality outlier detection. The second example
presents a coupon incentive-based approach to engaging end users demand fl
exibility. The underlying theme of the work suggests the importance of int
egrating data with dynamic context-aware models in smart grid.\n\nLunch wi
ll be provided (includes vegetarian). There will be a $5 fee to IEEE Membe
rs and a $10 fee to Non Members. Payments to be made in person (cash or ch
eck) at the event.\n\nThe SF PES Chapter AdCom is mindful of our environme
nt and food waste. As a courtesy\, please email our Secretary\, Rahul Anil
kumar (ranilkumar@quanta-technology.com) no later than the day before the
event if you absolutely need to cancel your reservation. Thank you!\n\nSpe
