DESCRIPTION:"Alfa and Ericsson IoT Award" is the first step of the MoUs imp
 lementation that were signed between IEEE Lebanon Section and the first te
 lecom operator in Lebanon Alfa from one part\, and the worldwide leading t
 elecommunications company Ericsson from the other side. The competition ma
 in theme is IoT\, and it is the first of its kind in Lebanon. Students fro
 m 17 different universities were invited to create an innovative IoT idea 
 and compete against each other for a chance to win monetary and non-moneta
 ry (internship opportunities\, participation certificates\, trophies and m
 edia exposure) prizes. 24 teams (each team consists of two to three studen
 ts) competed in the first round which is the "Presentation Day". A jury ma
 de of IEEE\, Alfa and Ericsson delegates assessed their projects from diff
 erent points of view following specific grading criteria (technicality\, b
 usiness plan and mass production\, concept and innovation) and the Top 5 t
 eams were announced. Winners will be revealed in phase 2 of the competitio
