DESCRIPTION:Background\n\nThe Prague Embedded Systems Workshop is a researc
h meeting intended for the presentation and discussion of students’ resu
lts and progress in all aspects of embedded systems design\, testing\, and
applications. It is organized by members of the Department of Digital Des
ign at Faculty of Information Technology (which is the youngest) of the Cz
ech Technical University in Prague (which is the oldest technical universi
ty in Central Europe). The workshop aims to enhance collaboration between
different universities not only inside EU. It will be based on oral presen
tations\, mutual communication and discussions.\n\nA part of the PESW work
shop is a contest of bachelor and master theses organized as a poster sess
ion and awarded by sponsors gifts. The main aim is a motivation for future
Ph.D. studies.\n\nScope\n\nThe workshop PESW 2018 addresses emerging issu
es\, hot problems\, new solution methods\, and their hardware and software
implementations in the fields of digital and mixed-signal system design.
It is especially focused on dependable and low power design\, and testing
methods related to the SoC technology and modern embedded applications. Th
e workshop topics include (but are not limited to):\n\n- Programmable/re-c
onfigurable/adaptable architectures\n- SoC and NoC design and testing\n- D
igital design optimization methods\n- Architectures and hardware for secur
ity applications\n- On-line and off-line error detection and correction\n-
Fault-tolerant control systems design methods\n- Testability and reliabil
ity analysis\n- Logic synthesis and optimization\n- Diagnosis & testing of
 embedded systems\n- Verification of embedded systems\n- Mission-critical
& real-time systems\n- Heterogeneous Cyber-Physical Systems\n- Robotic con
trol\n- Applications of (embedded) digital systems\n\nSpecial Session on N
etwork Security:\n\n- Algorithms and methods for anomaly detection\n- Netw
ork monitoring and measurements\n- Network traffic processing and analysis
\n- Security and privacy issues\n- Security issues of Internet of Things\n
\nSubmission & Types of Papers\n\nThere will be three types of submissions
at PESW 2018:\n\n- Full papers (up to 10 pages\, single-column) describin
g original research.\n- Abstracts (up to two pages\, single-column) of ear
lier published successfully presented papers (at conferences\, journals\,
etc.). The original source should be indicated in the abstracts.\n- Studen
t posters - abstracts of defended Bc. and MSc. Theses with a subsequent po
ster presentation. Will not be included in the Proceedings.\n\nPESW 2018 S
tudent Poster Session\n\nThe objective of the Student Poster Session at th
e PESW Workshop is to provide a forum for the presentation of student work
s defended this or in the last year (since summer 2017). The presented wor
ks must be Bachelor or Master Theses from the field of Embedded Systems.\n
\nThe Poster Session is organized by the IEEE Student Branch at the Czech
Technical University in Prague. Best posters will be rewarded by valuable
prizes donated by IEEE and sponsors.\n\nImportant Dates\nSubmission of ful
l papers/abstracts: June 5\, 2018 (extended)\nNotification of acceptance:
June 10\, 2018\nDeadline for final version of full papers/abstracts: June
17\, 2018Student posters submission deadline: June 24\, 2018\nStudent post
ers notification of acceptance: June 26\, 2018\nSubmission and Presentatio
n\n\nProspective authors are encouraged to submit their contributions elec
tronically through the page https://www.easychair.org/conferences/?conf=pe
sw2018 or (in case of access problems) by e-mail to Workshop Chairs before
the submission deadline.\n\nAccepted full papers\, abstracts\, and studen
t posters are supposed to be presented at PESW 2018 by the authors. Submit
ted abstracts will have longer presentations (30 min. with discussion).\n\
nThe Proceedings will be distributed electronically (flash drive) and prov
ided with ISBN. The list of papers and abstracts will be published at the
PESW web page.\n\nWorkshop webpage\n\nhttp://pesw.fit.cvut.cz/2018/\n\nTyr
