DESCRIPTION:Title: Time of Flight 3D Sensing and Imaging: detectors\, reado
ut circuits and data processing\n\nAbstract:\n\nIn the past few years we h
ave assisted to a tremendous increase of the number of applications requir
ing highly sophisticated electronic systems capable of taking autonomous d
ecisions during the interaction with complex environments and scenarios.\n
\nDepth sensors represent a fundamental enabling technology for such appli
cations\, allowing to reconstruct a complete 3D model of the surrounding e
nvironment\, thus increasing the reliability and robustness of automatic o
bjects classification.\n\nSeveral depth-sensing technologies are available
\, and it is becoming more and more evident that the optimal solution reli
es on a clever combination and optimization of multiple techniques\, throu
gh a careful optimization at system level of a multitude of parameters.\n\
nThe main goal of this talk is to provide an in-depth overview of state-of
-the-art ToF detectors technologies focusing on the main advantages and di
sadvantages of the two key competing detector classes\, i.e. photo-demodul
ators or SPADs\, and their natural implementation in indirect-/direct-ToF
systems through key examples from commercial and academic implementations.
\n\nCo-sponsored by: ETH Zürich Integrated Systems Laboratory \n\nSpeaker
(s): David Stoppa\, \n\nAgenda: \nThe seminar will be held with the follow
ing agenda :\n\nWe have a formal part\n\n17:00 - 18:30 : Lecture + Q&A + D
emo\n\nAnd an informal part\n\n18:30 - 19:00 : Apéro & Snacks\n\nRoom: E8
