 nsidering promising verticals. The Inatel Smart Campus\, an open Campus fo
 r research on IoT\, experiments\, and concepts and technology validation w
 ill be presented. It is a project open for companies’ participation and 
 promotes the academy-enterprise interaction. It is a true living lab for s
 everal IoT verticals\, including smart cities and smart homes. An initiati
 ve to prepare ICT professionals for new challenges regarding this new gene
 ration technologies for IoT will be presented. The communication ends with
  new trends and issues on Internet of Things\, suggesting further research
