DESCRIPTION:Introduction\n\nIEEE GCET Computer Society Student Chapter has
organized a seminar on “Drone Demonstration” on 26th July\, 2018. It w
as a one-day event aimed at making students understand the current technol
ogies in the industry.\n\nTotal 279 students from UG level took keen inter
est and participated in the seminar.\n\n- Seminar (Drone Demonstration): 0
1:30 P.M. to 03:00 P.M.\n\nAbout the Speaker\n\nSeminar (Drone Demonstrati
on):\n\nHem Soparkar\, an alumini of Navrachana University has designed an
d developed Self-Balancing Scooters and has brought his product in the mar
ket. He went to China and interacted with the manufacturers and dealers ab
out the latest technology and the current market demand. During his visit\
, he learnt a lot about the Indian market and the Chinese market.\n\nAbout
the Seminar\n\nAn unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV)\, commonly known as a dro
ne\, is an aircraft without a human pilot aboard. UAVs are a component of
an unmanned aircraft system which include a UAV\, a ground-based controlle
r\, and a system of communications between the two. The flight of UAVs may
operate with various degrees of autonomy: either under remote control by
a human operator or autonomously by onboard computers.\n\nCompared to mann
ed aircraft\, UAVs were originally used for missions too "dull\, dirty or
dangerous" for humans. While they originated mostly in military applicatio
ns\, their use is rapidly expanding to commercial\, scientific\, recreatio
nal\, agricultural\, and other applications\, such as policing\, peacekeep
ing\, and surveillance\, product deliveries\, aerial photography\, agricul
ture\, smuggling\, and drone racin[g](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Drone_
racing). Civilian UAVs now vastly outnumber military UAVs\, with estimates
of over a million sold by 2015\, so they can be seen as an early commerci
al application of autonomous things\, to be followed by the autonomous car
and home robots.\n\nDuring the Seminar\n\nThe following topics were cover
ed in the 2nd seminar on Drone Demonstration:\n\n- An overview of drones a
nd multi-rotors.\n- Advantages and disadvantages of drones\, multi-rotors.
\n- A brief description regarding the hardware used to construct drones an
d multi-rotors.\n- Demonstration of different types of drones. 5. A brief
discussion about the current buzzwords in technical domain: Artificial Int
elligence\, Machine Learning\, IOT(Internet of Things).\n\nGlimpses from t
he Event\n\nNeel Dholakia Felicitating Hem Soparkar with a bouquet\n\nThro
ughout the event\, participants have gained a lot of knowledge about Drone
and how to use them optimally.\n\nSpeaker(s): Mr. Hem Soparkar\, \n\nVall
