DESCRIPTION:OVERVIEW\nThe emergence of low-cost and easy-to-use Unmanned Ae
rial Systems (UAS)\, commonly referred to as drones\, has lead to an explo
sion of their use for numerous applications. In particular\, these new pla
tforms have enabled new imaging and earth remote sensing technologies and
applications previously unavailable due to the high cost of manned aircraf
t or satellites. This workshop will bring together academics\, industry re
presentatives\, and domain specialists to share perspectives on this rapid
ly evolving topic.\n\nSince its inception in 2016\, STRATUS went from a on
e-day\, to two-day\, and now a three-day event. We have expanded the works
hops reach to include entities from all over Western New York. STRATUS 201
9 is now a collaborative effort including some of the region's top univers
ities. The general organizing committee is made up of members from:\n\n- U
niversity at Buffalo\n- Cornell University\n- SUNY Environmental Science a
nd Forestry (ESF)\n- Rochester Institute of Technology\n- Hobart and Willi
am Smith Colleges\n\nAbstract & Presentation (OR) Paper & Presentation Sub
mission:\n\n- The workshop will have a two-track submission process for pr
ogram consideration. You can either submit an abstract (plus presentation)
or a 4-page paper (plus presentation). See details below.\n- The first tr
ack is for workshop participants who desire to share their work during the
conference without submitting a full paper. This first track will require
an abstract only for program consideration.\n- The second track is for au
thors wishing to present a full paper to be published in the proceedings\,
which will be archived in IEEE Xplore. A four-page IEEE style paper is re
quired and will undergo a full peer-review process for those wishing to se
ek this option.\n- Program will include both oral and poster sessions\, as
well as breaks for networking\, browsing exhibits and live demonstrations
.\n\n- Full paper submission deadline January 14\, 2019\n- Abstract-only s
ubmission deadline January 9\, 2019\n- Notification of acceptance January
28\, 2019\n- Early (online) registration deadline February 11\, 2019\n- Ca
mera-ready paper due (for full paper option) February 11\, 2019\n\nTUTORIA
LS: (Monday\, Feb 25\, 2019)\n\n- Tutorial 1: 8am - 10:30pm\, "Introductio
n to UAV Radiometry and Reflectance\, Chris Durell of Labsphere\, Inc." (E

1:30pm - 2:30pm\n\nREGISTRATION:\nDue to generous financial support from
the IEEE GRS Society\, Headwall Photonics\, Harris Corporation\, BeamIO\,
and EagleHawk\, registration will be:\n\n- $150 (Eary registration until F
ebruary 11)\n- $200 (Late registration after February 11)\n- Student Regis
