DESCRIPTION:It is often found that the undergraduate students have limited
interaction with the industry and there is a missing link between what the
y study in their curriculum and what is being done in the industry. To giv
e a real perspective of what is being done in the industry currently\, we
endeavoured to bring three industry speakers to talk to the students and r
ecent graduates who are interested in the Automation and Control Industry.
This workshop intends to provide undergraduate students and recent gradua
tes about the know-how of the hardware and software tools commonly used in
the industry\, along with a hint of the skill set they need to acquire to
get absorbed in the Automation Industry. Faculty members and Academics ar
e also welcome as they may find the information helpful and can include so
me of the topics into their curriculum.\n\nSpeakers:\n\nPankaj Yadav\, Pow
er Control Area Manager NSW\, Rockwell Automation (Title of talk: Industri
al Automation and what the future holds for this exciting area of Engineer
 ing endeavor)\n\nNick Psahoulias\, Managing Director\, Beckhoff Automation
Pty Ltd (Title of talk: I’m about to graduate\, now what?)\n\nDavid Gar
dner\, COO\, Robohelix Pty Ltd (Title of talk: What technical skills are b
eneficial for internship and job capabilities)\n\nCo-sponsored by: MQU Stu
