DESCRIPTION:[IEEE Women in Engineering (WIE) Montreal Section](https://www.
polymtl.ca/IEEEWIEMontreal/index.html) is pleased to organize STEM Entrepr
euneurs Panel on the occasion of the International Women's Day 2019.\n\nYo
u are invited to hear about experiences of successful and experienced STEM
Entrepreneurs. Join us to learn about how technology along with innovatio
n is helping entrepreneurs build successful Startups. Take advantage of th
e opportunity to discover real world applications of STEM fields through i
nnovative contributions of experienced entrepreneurs solving complex probl
ems and creating positive impact in our daily lives.\n\n***Event is free\,
but spaces are limited! For this event\, refreshments will be provided. P
lease register so that we can anticipate the number of attendees and order
food accordingly.***\n\nAmy Pinchuk is the president and founder of InFie
ld Scientific Inc (1994). InField specializes in electromagnetic compatibi
lity and interference (EMC/EMI)\, electromagnetic environmental effects (E
3)\, Radiation Hazards (RADHAZ)\, and computational electromagnetic analys
is. For the past twenty-four years\, InField’s primary focus has been el
ectromagnetic analysis and testing of military shipboard environments for
the Royal Canadian Navy and for the New Zealand Royal Navy. She has also t
aught a Software Engineering course at McGill University.\n\nShe received
her Ph. D. (1988)\, M. Eng. (1985) and B. Eng. (1983) from McGill Universi
ty under the supervision of Dr. Peter Silvester. She was a visiting schola
r at Cambridge University in England (1985). Dr. Pinchuk is the IEEE Montr
eal Section Chair and the EMC Society Chapter Chair. She was also a member
of the IEEE EMC Society Board of Directors\, and the Canadian Chair for U
RSI Section B. She is also the author of several children’s books which
focus on engineering for youngsters.\n\nMohamed Khalil\, CEO of Pyrocycle
and Ph.D candidate – Chemical Engineering Department (École Polytechniq
ue de Montréal). His Ph.D project focuses on developing a new thermochemi
cal process for recycling the end-of-life electronics waste. He started hi
s entrepreneurial career in November 2016. In April 2017\, He was selected
among the Top 25 emerging entrepreneurs in Québec. He was selected among
the six young innovators supported by the Fonds de recherche du Québec (
FRQ) as part of the entrepreneurial contest Adopte inc. 2018. In September
2018\, he has been honored as a Clean50 - Emerging Leader\, for demonstra
ted leadership in sustainability through the development of his solution f
or recycling Electronic waste and his project was selected as one of Canad
a's 2019 Clean50 Top Projects. He is a Canadian delegate for the G20 - You
ng Entrepreneurs' Alliance 2019 that will be held on May\, Fukuoka - Japan
.\n\nMargaret Magdesian\, BSc Pharmacology\, PhD Biochemistry\, has over 2
0 years of experience in biopharmaceutical research. Tired of the slow\, e
xpensive and inefficient process of drug development\, in collaboration wi
th researchers from McGill University\, she developed a new product to inc
rease standardization\, precision\, and reproducibility of cellular assays
. Recently\, she launched a company called ANANDA Devices ([www.AnandaDevi
ces.com](http://www.anandadevices.com/)) to commercialize this product and
stimulate other scientists to achieve reproducible and impactful results
faster. Dr Magdesian’s technology won 25 awards and grants in science an
d innovation in Canada\, US and France and her products have the potential
to dramatically accelerate the drug development cycle of new therapies fo
r people that need it.\n\nAgenda: \n18:00 – 18:15 Welcome and Opening\n\
