DESCRIPTION:David Dubowsky will discuss Nebraska Public Power District’s 
 recent implementation of Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) that inclu
 des new advanced metering technology providing 15-minute interval usage da
 ta\, a two-way meshed radio communications network\, and a Meter Data Mana
 gement (MDM) system for storing the large quantity of data provided by the
  new metering equipment. This new AMI and MDM technology is fully integrat
 ed with NPPD’s Customer Information System (CIS)\, Outage Management Sys
 tem (OMS)\, and existing Automated Meter Reading (AMR) power line carrier 
 system. The data collected from this new technology will also be integrate
 d with analytic tools to mine the data. The new AMI and MDM technology ena
 bles NPPD to transform customer service\, reduce distribution operating co
 sts\, and make more informed asset investment and operating decisions.\n\n
