The IEEE Princeton/Central Jersey Section and the IEEE New Jersey C oast Section organize this joint event to pay tribute to the new IEEE Fell ows in the Sections\, the IEEE Region 1 and Section Award recipients\, and to celebrate the IEEE Milestone for the DIANA project - Detection of Rada r Signals Reflected from the Moon. The significance of this milestone is s ummarized by the citation: On 10 January 1946\, a team of military and civ ilian personnel at Camp Evans\, Fort Monmouth\, New Jersey\, USA\, reflect ed the first radar signals off the Moon using a specially modified SCR-270 /1 radar. The signals took 2.5 seconds to travel to the Moon and back to t he Earth.
