DESCRIPTION:This talk will give an overview of the development of several e
merging technologies that capitalize on advances in wireless technologies
to address clinically informed needs. From the high-frequency microwave ra
nge to the low-frequency kilohertz range\, a contrast in the electrical pr
operties exists between different biological tissues. These differences ca
n be exploited in the development and application of minimally invasive el
 ectromagnetic-based medical technologies. Specifically\, the design\, fabr
ication\, and the clinical testing pathway of prototypes addressing specif
ic clinical needs\, including breast cancer screening\, brain bleed detect
ion\, bladder monitoring\, and neutrophil monitoring during chemotherapy w
ill be addressed. This presentation will conclude with a discussion on fut
ure\, unexplored avenues of research for such electromagnetic-based techno
logies.\n\nThis event is free\, but places are limited. Please register! R
efreshments will be served.\n\nSpeaker(s): Dr. Adam Santorelli\, \n\nRoom:
