ntroduced the innovative idea that Programming = Algorithm + Data Structur
 e. Inspired by this\, we advance the concept to the next level by stating
that Design = Algorithm + Architecture. With concurrent exploration of alg
orithm and architecture entitled Algorithm/Architecture Co-exploration (AA
C)\, this methodology introduces a leading paradigm shift in advanced syst
em design from System-on-a-Chip to Cloud and Edge.\n\nAs algorithms with h
igh accuracy become exceedingly more complex and Edge/IoT generated data b
ecomes increasingly bigger\, flexibleparallel/reconfigurable processing ar
e crucial in the design of efficientsignal processing systems having low p
ower. Hence the analysis of algorithms and data for potential computing in
parallel\, efficient data storage and data transfer is crucial. With exte
nsion of AAC for SoC system designs to even more versatile platforms based
on analytics architecture\, system scope is readily extensible to cogniti
ve cloud and reconfigurable edge computing for multimedia and mobile healt
h\, a cross-level-of abstraction topic which will be introduced in this tu
torial together with case studies.\n\nBio:\n\nChris Gwo Giun Lee is an inv
estigator in the field of signal processing systems including multimedia a
nd bioinformatics. His endeavors in system design\, based on analytics of
algorithm concurrently with analytics architecture\, has made possible com
putations on System-on-Chip and cloud platforms in resolving complex probl
ems with both accuracy and efficiency. Having previously held leading and
managerial positions in the industry such as System Architect in former Ph
ilips Semiconductor in Silicon Valley\, Lee was recruited to NCKU in 2003
where he found and is currently directing the Bioinfotronics Research Cent
er.\n\nLee received his B.S. degree in electrical engineering from Nationa
l Taiwan University and both his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engi
neering from University of Massachusetts. He has contributed more than 130
original research and technical publications with the invention of 60+ pa
