  Mr..Hari. A lecture on “Career 4.0” by Prof.Padmakumar Nair\,Director
  and Dean Thapa Institute of Engineering and Technology Campus Thapar Scho
 ol of Management).\n\nThis session was open to both IEEE and Non-IEEE memb
 ers.Just like how the invention of steam engine eliminated most jobs requi
 ring speed and raw muscle power\, electricity and automation eliminated jo
 bs requiring repetition and precision. AI connected with Internet of Thing
 s and expert systems will replace most jobs requiring making and pattern i
 dentification based on large data. In this talk\, we explore ideas for pre
 paring ourselves for the jobs where AI and deep learning systems are not\n
 capable of doing.\n\nThis session mostly dealt with how to be in a profess
 ion.Such an enlightenment is necessary since automation is overtaking each
  and every field and the only option left behind is collaborative thinking
 . Hence we should have or develop the corresponding skills to enter into t
 he industry. The talk was followed by questionnaire from the students.That
  was indeed one of the more interesting parts of the session.\n\nAs a toke
 n of gratitude\, the speaker Prof. Padmakumar Nair was presented with a mo
 mento by Mr.Nandan S. who was our branch counsellor in the previous year.T
