DESCRIPTION:As more renewable generation is being added to the grid\, utili
 ties are looking for solutions to integrate the new generation without add
 ing new infrastructure. One potential solution is to use Dynamic Thermal L
 ine Rating (DTLR). DTLR uses actual weather conditions to calculate a real
 -time thermal rating\, compared to using conservative assumptions to calcu
 late a static rating. This presentation will provide a brief overview of w
 hat DTLR is and the current state of the art\, along with the DTLR researc
 h presently being conducted at the University of Calgary.\n---------------
