DESCRIPTION:This two days workshop will be based on Design and Characteriza
tion of Microwave Components and Antennas. The resource persons/speakers w
ill be from the industry and the faculty members from the ECE department\,
TIET who will guide you in hands-on training.\n\nAll enthusiasts persons
eager to learn the designing of various microwave components and antennas
can attend this workshop. This workshop will provide an opportunity for at
tendees to acquire the knowledge of the design of basic RF/microwave devic
es along with the guidance on fabrication and measurement.\n\nTIET\, Patia
la is located at a distance of 55Km from Ambala Cantt Railway station whic
h is well connected to almost all parts of India. Direct Taxi\, Buses (AC
& NON-AC)\, and Trains are available to reach Patiala from Ambala Cantt Ra
ilway station. Moreover\, the nearest air connectivity to Patiala is Chand
igarh Airport which is at a distance of 60 Km. Private taxi and buses are
available from the airport to reach Patiala.\n\nCo-sponsored by: Thapar In
stitute of Engineering and Technology\, Patiala\, Punjab\n\nAgenda: \nThis
workshop will cover the following:\n Fundamentals of EM simulator CST
Microwave Studio\n Designing of transmission lines (e.g. coaxial line\,
 microstrip line\, CPW line\, etc.)\n Designing of Waveguide/Directiona
l coupler/ power divider\n MIMO antennas and calculation of various div
ersity parameters\n SAR analysis of mobile phone antennas\n Metamate
rial\n Metasurface based Microwave Absorbers\n Antennas for RFID app
lication\n Fabrication and measurement\n\nDepartment of Electronics and
