 T\n\n9:00\nSession 1 – EMC Concepts: Case studies of Passive Components\
 , Power Distribution Network\, and EMC Filters\n\nThis session begins with
  a case study of passive circuit components including the PCB trace itself
 . The non-ideal models of resistors\, capacitors\, inductors and PCB trace
 s are represented by a specific RLC network consisting of the intended com
 ponent and the parasitics. We will show that a PCB trace has the same impe
 dance signature as an inductor and effectively constitutes the fourth pass

 Developing a practical EMC pre-compliance test laboratory and key diagnost
 ic tools/methodology\n\nThis session covers lessons learned from developin
 g test\, measurement and diagnostic laboratories. This past experience com
 es from developing accredited EMC laboratories for industry and diagnosing
  EMC issues in a wide range of industries and product types.\n\nThere are 
 significant cost and time savings with upfront test and diagnostic activit
 y of new product development. Pre-compliance testing enables these savings
  when applied effectively. Developing pre-compliance and diagnostic test c
 apabilities with low budgets will help small companies or corporate teams 
 justify and create their own in-house capability. Having a capital plan fo
 r upgrading the lab capabilities will enable continued growth and expertis
 e to meet the demands and emerging trends of new technologies. We will ide
 ntify must-have diagnostic tools and a mindset for testing and troubleshoo
 ting product EMC failures quickly.\n\n12:00		LUNCH\n\n1:00\nSession 3 – 
 Practical and applied simulation examples (EMC test models\, PDN analysis\
 , PCB design rule checker)\n\nPractical EMC simulations are an important p
 art of successful EMC designs. Effective models don’t need to be perfect
  and can be simulated in a reasonable amount of time. In this session we w
 ill see examples of EMC test models in Dassault Systeme’s CST Studio and
  how they can be used to help prevent and understand EMC issues.\n\nWe wil
 l also look at Power Delivery Network (PDN) analysis from the EMC perspect
 ive. A poor PDN design can contribute to EMC issues such as radiated emiss
 ions and board resonances can amplify even the smallest signals into syste
 m level failures. We can use simulation tools to evaluate the PDN and make
  improvements to decoupling and power plane designs.\n\n2:00		Break &amp; Exhi
 bits\n\n3:00\nSession 4 – Switch-mode power supplies: EMC Design\, Diagn
 ostics &amp; Emissions Control\n\nPower conversion is one of the bigger challe
 nges facing the EMC Engineer. In this session we will review common design
  issues that lead to emissions failures and measurement techniques to isol
 ate the root cause.\n\nWe will explain Schematic and PCB layout techniques
  to mitigate emissions issues. The three main sections of power converters
  will be discussed (Input section\, switch node and Output section). In ad
 dition\, we will share some of the tools and techniques we have used succe
 ssfully to isolate problem areas of the circuit and correct performance is
