 ming community 5G Wireless Forum with a featured presentation by IEEE Fell
 ow and electromagnetics specialist\, Dr Robert Olsen. This talk will prese
 nt a balanced discussion of the new 5G wireless landscape\, together with 
 current widely discussed issues in the 5G area. The talk\, as a continuati
 on of the ongoing IEEE Spokane series in RF technology\, will include an i
 nformative profile of the technology itself\, as well as an up-to-date dis
 cussion of work on related safety standards\, including the recent conside
 rations of the 28-member International Commission on Non-Ionizing Radiatio
 n Protection (ICNIRP) Scientific Expert Group.\n\nThe Speaker:\n\nDr. Robe
 rt Olsen\, currently Professor Emeritus of Electrical Engineering at Washi
 ngton State University\, has also served as an Associate Dean of the WSU C
 ollege of Engineering and Architecture. He is an IEEE Fellow and an Honora
 ry Life member of the IEEE Electromagnetic Compatibility Society\, as well
  as past Associate Editor of the IEEE Transactions on Electromagnetic Comp
 atibility and Radio Science. Dr. Olsen holds a BS degree from Rutgers Univ
 ersity and MS and PhD degrees from the University of Colorado\, all in ele
