DESCRIPTION:Dear Sir/Madam\,\n\nThe health and safety of workshop participa
nts and organizers is our top priority! Taking into account the COVID-19 r
elated health and safety regulations issued by the Dutch government\, we h
ave decided to postpone the IEEE PES Benelux/CIGRE SC C2 workshop on WAMS
that was scheduled for 18 May 2020.\n\nWe will continue to closely monitor
the situation. A new date for the workshop\, together with a valid regist
ration link\, will be communicated as soon as more information about guide
lines from the relevant authorities becomes available.\n\nStay safe and he
althy!\n\nSincerely\,\n\nSusana de Graaff (CIGRE SC C2 Chair – System Op
erations and Control)\n\nArjen van der Meer (IEEE Benelux PES/IES/PELS cha
 pter secretary)\n\n-------------------------------------\n\nYou are cordia
lly invited to join us at the joint IEEE Benelux PES chapter // CIGRE SC C
2 workshop on wide area measurement systems (WAMS) on May 18th\, TenneT\,
Arnhem.\n\nThe energy transition can only be successful if the power syste
m remains secure\, stable\, and affordable. Against the backdrop of the di
gital revolution and the increased installed capacity of power electronic
interfaced generation\, system operators are working on innovative solutio
ns to keep the power system within its operational boundary conditions. Wi
de area measurement systems are a key enabler for advanced data acquisitio
n\, control and protection. In this workshop the current state-of-the-art
in WAMS as well as the innovation challenges for the coming years will be
discussed by experts from transmission system operators and universities.\
