DESCRIPTION:Event Details\n\nWe will discuss several items related to priva
 cy in general. We will start with a general background on privacy\, its me
 anings and interpretation in the law over the years. We will then cover no
 t only individual privacy\, but new California laws regarding new legislat
 ion (AB375) and its implications for consumers\, social media companies an
 d other tertiary firms that use data harvested online\, including specific
  person rights to control and restriction of that data. We will conclude w
 ith a similar treatment of workplace privacy and the implications for empl
 oyees and employers\, covering also impacts on public sector agencies and 
 local governments\, and their handling of constituent data. Discussions ar
 e happening in Sacramento on increasing the liability of elected officials
  who are not addressing privacy and cyber resiliency adequately.\n\nSpeake
 r Bio\n\nFrank Ury is an Orange County leader in Technology Operations\, S
 ales and Business Development with a background in setting infrastructure 
 and IT operations strategies and roadmaps. Having served for 12 years as a
  Councilmember and Mayor of the City of Mission Viejo\, his technology car
 eer includes senior technology positions in many major companies\, includi
 ng DXC Technology\, HP Enterprise Services\, Intel Corporation and Black a
 nd Decker. He holds a BSEE from Notre Dame\, and MSEE from USC and his MBA
  from UC Irvine. In addition to his council position\, he served on the Bo
 ard for the Orange County Transportation Authority\, and currently serves 
 the Big Data-Open Data Committee for the Southern California Association o
 f Governments\, and on several regional cybersecurity advisory boards.\n\n
