DESCRIPTION:The IEEE North Jersey Section hosts a one-day workshop: Introdu
ction to Embedded Systems Using ARM Microcontrollers.\n\nCome join us for
an intensive and practical workshop in embedded systems\, designed for ele
ctronics engineers\, software engineers\, and other technical professional
s.\n\nThe workshop includes a commercial-grade embedded systems developmen
t board ([Microchip SAM E70 Xplained Ultra](https://www.microchip.com/Deve
lopmenttools/ProductDetails/DM320113) https://www.microchip.com/Developmen
ttools/ProductDetails/DM320113) with a 32-bit ARM microcontroller (ATSAME7
0Q21) plus a peripheral board (Microchip I/O1 Xplained Pro). This $145 val
ue + handbook is yours to keep!\n\nYou will learn how to use the companion
Integrated Development Environment (IDE) and the 32-bit C compiler to cre
ate your firmware. You will also learn basic methods of debugging.\n\nWe w
ill be reviewing the overall concepts of microcontrollers\, interfaces\, a
nd electronic components.\n\nWe will go over software vs. firmware\, progr
am structure\, peripheral interfacing\, and basic realtime considerations.
This one-day workshop is structured with a few hours of interactive lectu
res\, and a few hours of hands-on experience with the hardware and softwar
e. Lunch is included!\n\nThe student must provide their own computer with
the IDE and C compiler pre-installed\; both are available for free from th
e manufacturer. The IDE and the C compiler works on updated versions of Wi
ndows\, macOS\, and several Linux variants\, allowing you a choice in plat
forms.\n\n** IEEE Members $295\, Non-IEEE Members $395. ***\n\nThis event
has limited seating and registration will close once the event reaches cap
acity. Early bird registration dates for discounts and date for the last d
ay for refundable registration fee apply. After the deadline\, refunds wil
l not be possible due to costs of ordering and equipment delivery.\n\nCEUs
(continuing education units) are available for this event as a separate f
ee of $ 5.00\, contact [ben.meyer@ieee.org](https://webmailb.netzero.net/w

day's event in the parking deck.\n\nThis symposium is being organized by
the IEEE North Jersey Section and its Communications and Controls Chapters
.\n\nCo-sponsored by: COMSOC\n\nAgenda: \nGet introduced to a new skill in
just one day! Presented in association with the IEEE North Jersey Section
.\n\nWhat You Will Learn\n• What embedded systems are\, and what they ar
e used for.\n• The basic end-to-end process of designing an embedded sys
tem\, from components to working firmware.\n• Skills to troubleshoot an
embedded system.\n\nPrerequisites\n• A general understanding of electron
ics and components\, computer concepts\,interfaces\, as well as basic expe
rience in the C programming language.\n• Portable computer\, with the ID
E and C compiler software pre-installed.\n\n[Find out more](https://worksh
