DESCRIPTION:The SELECT Center consortium located at Utah State University h
as graciously allow IEEE to join them in their technical series on work be
ing performed for the consortium. They will be holding a Brown Bag lunch t
echnical presentation in which Dorai Yelaverthi\, PhD candidate at Utah St
ate University\, will present on research work currently underway at the U
SU Power Electronics Laboratory on Unfolding based quasi-single stage thre
e-phase AC to DC converters. This approach can achieve higher power densit
y and efficiency compared to two-stage topologies. He will present a brief
literature review of various topologies followed by the quantitative bene
fits of the Unfolding approach. Prototype design details and experimental
results of 560 kW Medium Voltage (4.16 kV) AC to 800 VDC will also be disc
ussed.\n\nSpeaker(s): Dorai Yelaverthi\, \n\nAgenda: \nApproximately 30 Mi
nute presentation followed by Q&A\n\nZoom meeting link will be emailed to
registered attendees. You must register in order to get the link prior to
the meeting time!\n\nBldg: Online meeting\, Raleigh\, North Carolina\, Uni
