 y.\n\nThe speaker for this meeting will be David Bondurant\, who is chair 
 of the Pike&#39;s Peak Section&#39;s Life Member Group. David will be sharing his 
 experience in 1990 as one of the first Americans to visit the forbidden Ru
 ssia city of Gorky\, then home of Russia’s nuclear program. David presen
 ted this talk at the June 22\, 2019 luncheon meeting of the Denver Life Me
 mbers Group. If you missed that meeting\, this will be a good opportunity

 --------------------\n\nRussian Perestroika During the Post Cold War Era\n
 \nDavid Bondurant\, Retired PE\nPikes Peak Life Member Affinity Group Chai
 r\n\nDuring a brief period of time starting in 1991\, American and Russian
  scientists worked cooperatively to prevent the proliferation of weapons o
 f mass destruction. The Global Initiative for Proliferation Protection (GI
 PP) and US Industry Coalition (USIC) developed programs to engage scientis
 ts from Russia and the newly Independent States of the Soviet Union in com
 mercial developments. Before the fall of the Soviet Union\, a small team o
 f American scientists engaged in some of the first joint development discu
 ssions of the era of Perestroika. David was part of a team of the first Am
 erican’s to visit the forbidden Russia city of Gorky\, home of Russia’
 s nuclear program in November 1990. He will briefly describe the visit to 
 their advanced semiconductor &amp; PC manufacturing facility and show the outc
