DESCRIPTION:**********Just a day left to register***********\n\nWe are exci
ted to request your participation in the first virtual event for Atlanta C
omSoc\, co-hosted with the Austin Chapter. Please register below soon.\n\n
Our speaker Dr. Syed Hassan Ahmed was an Assistant Professor at Georgia So
uthern University prior to joining JMA wireless as a Product Specialist cu
rrently. He is going to present a virtual talk titled "Named Data Networki
ng in Connected and Smart Cities".\n\nAbstract: Although\, the current Int
ernet architecture supports both static and mobility (Mobile IP) and tends
to be secured\, however\, we still receive Spams every day and we also ge
t significant delays in content retrieval\, very often. Based on several l
iterature findings\, if we revisit the current Internet architecture\, it
was not originally designed to support mobility and was never prone to the
hundreds of today’s sophisticated attacks on its reliability and privac
y. Therefore\, during the past decade\, many research efforts have been tr
iggered to redesign the current “host-centric” Internet architecture.
The rationale behind those efforts is contingent on the Internet thirst of
end-users\, which has been exponentially growing to support fancy applica
tions disseminating enormously sized contents. Almost\, every effort to ch
ange the Internet architecture intersects at the concept of Content Delive
ry Networks. In this talk\, the speaker will briefly look at the driving f
orces for one of the popular Future Internet architecture known as Named D
ata Network (NDN). Also\, we will discuss our contributions to the field o
f Vehicular NDN. Finally\, the speaker will look at NDN’s applicability
and an application use-case in terms of automating traffic violation ticke
ting using vehicular communications.\n\nMeeting link to join on the day of
the event will be sent in a separate email.\n\nVisit Atlanta ComSoc webpa
