DESCRIPTION:This is an online class on Space Weather and Geomagnetic Distur
bances. The class will touch on magnetometer and GIC data requirements as
set forth in the NERC Standard TPL-007-3 – Transmission System Planned P
erformance for Geomagnetic Disturbance Events\, the status of the NERC GMD
task force\, and similar related topics. The class is being arranged by m
embers of the Florida Reliability Coordinating Council\, the Orlando IEEE
PES/IAS/PEL Chapter and the Florida West Coast Section of IEEE.\n\nSpeaker
s include\n\n- Bill Murtagh\, Program Coordinator for the National Oceanic
and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Space Weather Prediction Center (SW
PC)\n- Dr. Antti Pulkkinen\, Deputy Director of the Heliophysics Science D
ivision at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center\n- Emanuel Bernabeu\, Director
Applied Innovation & Analytics\, PJM Interconnection\n\nThere are two reg
istrations available:\n\nAttendee: No Cost\n\nAttendee w/ CEU (3.5 PDH): $
5\n\nPlease register below. We will send out an email with the WEBEX link
prior to the event.\n\nCEU Registration notes:\n- CEU will be provided by
IEEE as a 0.35 (3.5 PDH) Credit\n- There are unfortunately no refunds if y
ou are unable to attend\n- We will track attendance for CEU attendees and
you must be on the meeting webex from start to finish\n- If you are regist
ered for CEU's you will receive a CEU application form and class survey\,
the form and survey must be completed to receive the credits.\n\nOrlando\,
