ctions in the USA. States received $380M in federal funding to make electi
on security improvements\, including the replacement of vulnerable voting
equipment that provided no way to confirm that ballots were accurately rec
orded or counted. Now\, with COVID-19 in the mix\, many municipalities are
expanding access to absentee voting for the November general election. Ye
t\, these paper ballots are still vulnerable to age-old forms of fraud and
tampering\, and they do not include end-to-end tracking\, or the simple a
nd inexpensive security features that are applied to cheques\, lottery tic
kets\, dollar bills and prescription scripts. In this talk\, Dr. Mercuri w
ill describe some of the problematic issues that should be anticipated thi
s Fall\, along with suggestions for the implementation of risk mitigations
\, while there is still time to put these into place.\n\nBldg: Zoom\, Inte
