DESCRIPTION:Registration Ends at 8 a.m. EST on September 15th!!\n\nDr. Huse
yin Arslan\, professor at University of South Florida will be giving a pre
sentation on Flexible and Cognitive Radio Access Technologies for 5G and B
eyond. The Abstract for this talk is below.\n\nAbstract:\n\n5G aims to sup
port new and diverse sets of application classes like eMBB communications\
, uRLLC and mMTC. Supporting these services using a single framework has i
ntroduced a new vision and sets of challenges for wireless researchers in
many layers of the protocol stacks\, especially in the Physical\, Medium A
ccess and Network Layers. The trend on the variety and the number of mobil
e devices along with the mobile applications will certainly continue beyon
d 5G. In order to create a system that can support this trend\, a wide ran
ge of technical challenges and requirements must be simultanously satisfie
 d. A robust system that ensures extreme reliability and low latency under
diverse channel conditions\, while minimizing production and operational c
osts and maximizing power and spectrum efficiency is required. Cooperative
networking capability and coexistence\, dynamic and flexible utilization
of wireless spectrum\, highly flexible\, cognitive and adaptive radio acce
ss technologies are key enablers in addressing these technical challenges.
In this talk\, the potential directions and research opportunities to add
ress the challenges and requirements of the 5G vision will be discussed.\n
