 9\n\nAbstract: Conducting a very high quality research may be the fundamen
 tal job for scientists but their survival in the long run depends on their
  ability to write good papers\, articles\, and reports and publish them in
  highly ranked journals. The writing process can be intimidating to many r
 esearchers even to experienced professionals. According to IEEE Member Mat
 thias Reumann\, a postdoctoral Fellow at the IBM Thomas J. Watson Research
  Center in Yorktown Heights\, “Writing requires discipline\, organizatio
 n\, thoroughness\, understanding of the background and consequences\, and 
 planning\,”\n\nThis seminar will present some ground rules on writing an
 d publishing good scientific papers in IEEE transactions and journals. Per
 sonal experience with the association with IEEE over 34 years as an associ
 ate editor (18+ years with IEEE Sensors Journal\, 13+ years with IEEE TIM 
 and 3 years with IEEE Mechatronics) and dealing over 2000 papers will be s
 hared.\n\nBiography : Dr. Subhas holds a B.E.E. (gold medallist)\, M.E.E.\
 , Ph.D. (India) and Doctor of Engineering (Japan). He has over 26 years of
  teaching\, industrial and research experience.\nCurrently\, he is working
  as a Professor of Mechanical/Electronics Engineering\, Macquarie Universi
 ty\, Australia and is the Discipline Leader of the Mechatronics Engineerin
 g Degree Programme. Before joining Macquarie University\, he worked as Pro
 fessor of Sensing Technology\, Massey University\, New Zealand. His fields
  of interest include Smart Sensors and sensing technology\, instrumentatio
 n techniques\, wireless sensors and network (WSN)\, Internet of Things (Io
 T)\, numerical field calculation\, electro-magnetics etc. He has supervise
 d over 40 postgraduate students and over 100 Honours students. He has exam
 ined over 50 postgraduate theses.\n\nHe has published over 400 papers in d
 ifferent international journals and conference proceedings\, written six b
 ooks and thirty-six book chapters and edited eighteen conference proceedin
 gs. He has also edited thirty-five books with Springer-Verlag and twenty f
 our journal special issues. He has organized over 20 international confere
 nces as either General Chairs/co-chairs or Technical Programme Chair. He h
 as delivered 356 presentations including keynote\, invited\, tutorial and 
 special lectures.\n\nHe is a Fellow of IEEE (USA)\, a Fellow of IET (UK)\,
  a Fellow of IETE (India). He is a Topical Editor of IEEE Sensors journal 
 where he handles 11 Associate Editors. He is also an associate editor of I
 EEE Transactions on Instrumentation and Measurements. He is a Distinguishe
 d Lecturer of the IEEE Sensors Council from 2017 to 2022. He chairs the IE
