DESCRIPTION:Please carefully read the "fine print" at the bottom of this pa
ge\, prior to registering.\n----------------------------------------------
-----------------\n\nEnergy storage is becoming more prevalent in the elec
tricity industry as renewable penetration and distributed energy resources
continue to increase\, as consumer preferences and business models contin
ue to evolve\, and as technology costs continue to decline rapidly.\nIn 20
19\, the Alberta Electric System Operator (AESO) developed the Energy Stor
age Roadmap that sets out the AESO’s plan to facilitate the integration
of energy storage technologies into AESO Authoritative Documents and grid
& market systems. This will help facilitate market qualification and parti
cipation for energy storage as well as enable an efficient and effective c
onnection. The roadmap will also help the AESO in monitoring and control o
f energy storage facilities when connected to the electricity grid.\nAs pa
rt of the Energy Storage Roadmap\, the AESO has identified a number of act
ivities needed to integrate Energy Storage in the shorter and longer term.
This presentation will provide an update on the different activities bein
g undertaken along with timelines.\n--------------------------------------
-------------------------\n\n"Fine Print"\n\n- The webinar is free for act
ive IEEE members.\n- There is a $5 registration fee for people who are not
active IEEE members.\n\n- The fee must be paid in advance through the reg
istration process below (credit card through PayPal) in order to receive t
he link to the webinar.\n- Upon successful payment of the fee\, you will r
eceive 2 emails: one from noreply_vtools@ieee.org with title "IEEE vTools
Reservation Confirmation\," and a second from service@intl.paypal.com with
title "Your payment to The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engine
ers\, Inc." Both emails are required to ensure your payment was successful
ly processed.\n- Incomplete non-member registrations (payment not received
) will be deleted.\n- A link to the WebEx registration will be sent to the
email address you provided during this vTools registration\, on Oct 19\,
by "IEEE Southern Alberta". Please double check the spelling of your email
address when registering.\n- The mechanism used to email the WebEx link r
equires you to accept the IEEE Privacy Policy and consent to receiving ema
ils from IEEE. If you have not opted-in to receive email communications fr
om IEEE\, or have opted-out of email communications from IEEE in the past\
, you might not receive the email containing the WebEx link. IEEE members
can go to https://www.ieee.org/ieee-privacyportal/app/ibp and ensure that
"Local IEEE Communications" is checked under the category Communication P
references > Member Benefits. Former members and non members who opted-out
of email communications in the past can contact the [IEEE Support Center]
(https://supportcenter.ieee.org/) to find out how to adjust their email co
mmunication preferences.\n- You will need to complete the brief WebEx even
t registration prior to joining the webinar.\n\nCo-sponsored by: AESO\n\nS
