DESCRIPTION:Learning Objectives:\n\n- Medium voltage cable handling\n- Cabl
e pull calculations & pull plans\n- Cable routing best practises\n- Large
cable installations\n- Site acceptance and maintenance testing\n\nOverview
:\n\nThis webinar will cover the site considerations related to medium vol
tage and large cables. These cables require additional planning to ensure
long lasting and cost-effective installations. At the design phase and spe
cification stage there are several best practices that can be considered t
hat help ensure these critical cables are installed such that the risk of
improper handling is minimized. Often poorly handled or improperly pulled
medium voltage cables can result in damage that will pass acceptance testi
ng but show up in failures 5 or 6 years later. With a good pull and testin
g plan\, site issues can be better controlled for long lasting cable insta
llations.\n\nIntended Audience: Engineers\, Designers\, Manufacturer’s\,
Installers and Inspectors who are responsible for the design\, selection
and installation of medium voltage cables.\n\n"Fine Print"\n\n- The webina
r is free for active IEEE members.\n- There is a $5 registration fee for p
eople who are not active IEEE members.\n\n- The fee must be paid in advanc
e through the registration process below (credit card through PayPal) in o
rder to receive the link to the webinar.\n- Upon successful payment of the
fee\, you will receive 2 emails: one from noreply_vtools@ieee.org with ti
tle "IEEE vTools Reservation Confirmation\," and a second from service@int
l.paypal.com with title "Your payment to The Institute of Electrical and E
lectronics Engineers\, Inc." Both emails are required to ensure your payme
nt was successfully processed.\n- Incomplete non-member registrations (pay
ment not received) will be deleted.\n- A link to the WebEx registration wi
ll be sent to the email address you provided during this vTools registrati
on\, on Nov 30\, by "IEEE Southern Alberta". Please double check the spell
ing of your email address when registering.\n- The mechanism used to email
the WebEx link requires you to accept the IEEE Privacy Policy and consent
to receiving emails from IEEE. If you have not opted-in to receive email
communications from IEEE\, or have opted-out of email communications from
IEEE in the past\, you might not receive the email containing the WebEx li
nk. IEEE members can go to https://www.ieee.org/ieee-privacyportal/app/ib
p and ensure that "Local IEEE Communications" is checked under the categor
y Communication Preferences > Member Benefits. Former members and non memb
ers who opted-out of email communications in the past can contact the [IEE
E Support Center](https://supportcenter.ieee.org/) to find out how to adju
st their email communication preferences.\n- You will need to complete the
brief WebEx event registration prior to joining the webinar.\n\nCo-sponso
