DESCRIPTION:Nowadays\, the word ‘data’ is commonly used one. A common d
efinition\, “data is the oil\, of the 21st century- the raw material tha
t our economies\, societies and democracies are increasingly being built o
n”. It is mind blowing the number and size of the data getting created e
very day. The latest advances in technology mainly smartphones and IoT con
nected devices are the main contributors in the data creation. We started
by defining data as the raw material. In fact\, it is. Data as it gets gen
erated and stored doesn’t provide much value as transforming and analyzi
ng these data. Machine learning is a branch of artificial intelligence tha
t uses statistics to build algorithms/model from these massive amounts of
data. You can look at it as data is the input\, machine learning is the en
gine\, and the insightful values that drive important decisions is the out
put of this process. Every industry is utilizing data to build their decis
 ions\, strategies\, production plans\, …etc. In this talk\, we will go o
ver how Oshkosh Corp as being the world leading manufacturer of specialty
vehicles started the journey of connecting its vehicles and how the real-t
ime and analyzed data through machine learning helping our customer to bet
ter manage their fleet\, utilization\, and vehicles maintenance.\n\nSpeake
