DESCRIPTION:BMSCE IEEE Power and Energy Society and Sensors council in coll
aboration with IEEE sensors council Bangalore chapter organised an event
‘Circuit hunt’ on 11th October\,2020 which marked the first event of B
MSCE IEEE Sensors Council.\n\nCircuit hunt is an innovative quest which ma
inly aimed at testing the circuit solving skills of the participants and i
nvolved locating a treasure at the end in the ocean of circuits. The parti
cipation was individual or a team of two which was open to all the college
s and which marked an opportunity for the participants to showcase their a
nalysing and problem solving skills.\n\nAll the communications with the pa
rticipants were done through the whatsapp group where the updates on the o
ngoings of the event was provided.\n\nThe event consisted of three rounds.
The detailed instructions for each of the rounds was mentioned in the PDF
containing the questions and the participants were asked to go through it
before solving the questions.\n\nThe circuit hunt kick-started at sharp 5
:00 PM with Round 1 wherein the the first round PDF containing the questio
ns and a google form was provided to the participants on the whatsapp grou
p. The round 1 consisted of 10 easy level questions(numbered from 1 to 10)
based on Circuit analysis and digital electronics. Once the participants
were done solving the questions\, they were asked to enter a 10-digit pass
word in the google form wherein each digit of the password corresponded to
answers for the 10 questions in ascending order. If the password entered
was right\, they were directed to the next page in the google form wherein
the PDF link to Round 2 questions was attached. Clues were also given on
instagram for all the rounds and the participants were given the direction
s to look for the clues at regular intervals. A total of 40 teams includin
g IEEE and Non-IEEE members got through the first round.\n\nRound 2 consis
ted of 10 questions (numbered from A to J) of intermediate and difficult l
evel. The answers of the round 2 questions served as hints to the final ro
und wherein the participants were asked to solve and plugin the answers in
to final round circuits. The questions were framed such that the participa
nts arrived at the whole number as the answer in the end. The equations to
be applied for a few round 2 questions were given as clues on an instagra
m page which was hidden as a tag in one of the posts on BMSCE IEEE PES's o
fficial instagram page and the participants were given directions on the w
hatsapp group to look out for the same.\n\nFinal round consisted of 2 ques
tions. Here\, the participants were asked to substitute the answers they h
ave got in round 2 into the final round circuits as indicated by alphabets
. The two questions involved solving for voltage across and current along
a given branch respectively. The final round circuits were posted on one m
ore instagram page whose username was hidden as a tag in one of the posts
on BMSCE IEEE PES's official instagram page and the participants were give
n the directions to look out for the same. The participants were asked to
submit the final round answers through the google form which was attached
in the bio of the ROUND 3 instagram page.\n\nThe top 10 teams were decided
based on the duration of submission of final round answers. The top 10 te
ams were :\n\n1.Raghavendra and chinmaya(winners)\n\n2. Manu saraogi and R
itika siyal(runner ups)\n\n3. V Karthik\n\n4. Mahammadarif kasab\n\n5. Ani
sha KS and Varsha Bhat\n\n6. HM Deepika Jain and Suprita RM\n\n7. Aadarsh
S Bhat\n\n8. Gagan M and KR Revanth Adiga\n\n9. Santosh B Mallur and Rohit
L\n\n10. Varsha Nagesh and Vishak S\n\nThe announcement of top 10 teams w
as done on the whatsapp group and a shoutout was also given to them on our
social media page. The winners and runner ups received amazon gift vouche
rs worth Rs 1000/- and Rs 500/- respectively. All the teams who got throug
h the first round of the event were received with e-certificates of partic
ipation.\n\nWe are pretty sure that all the participants had a great time
in circuit solving and kudos to all of them for putting in their amazing e
ffort . We received amazing feedback from the participants. We'd like to t
hank our current execom and our collaborators IEEE sensors council Bangalo
re chapter who worked for the huge success of the event. We also look forw
ard to organising more interesting and fun events in this academic year 20
20-21.\n\nAgenda: \nThe event mainly aimed at testing the circuit solving
skills of the participants.\n\nBangalore\, Karnataka\, India\, Virtual: ht
