 This presentation provides an overview of recent multiple beam lens antenn
 a developments supported by the European Space Agency\, for applications r
 anging from satcom payloads\, to imaging systems and microwave instruments
 . There are also on-going transfer of technology activities for 5G terrest
 rial communication systems. The presentation will cover related developmen
 ts on polarizers\, providing polarization conversion as well as polarizati
 on selectivity for advanced antenna systems.\n\nBio: Nelson J. G. Fonseca 
 (Senior Member\, IEEE) received the M.Eng. degree from Ecole Nationale Sup
 érieure d’Electrotechnique\, Electronique\, Informatique\, Hydraulique 
 et Telecommunications (ENSEEIHT)\, Toulouse\, France\, in 2003\, the M.Sc.
  degree from the Ecole Polytechnique de Montreal\, Quebec\, Canada\, also 
 in 2003\, and the Ph.D. degree from Institut National Polytechnique de Tou
 louse – Université de Toulouse\, France\, in 2010\, all in electrical e
 ngineering.\n\nSince 2009\, he works in the Antenna and Sub-Millimetre Wav
 es Section\, European Space Agency (ESA)\, Noordwijk\, The Netherlands. Hi
 s current research interests include multiple beam antennas for space miss
 ions\, beamformer theory and design\, ground terminal antennas and novel m
 anufacturing techniques. He has authored or co-authored more than 200 pape
 rs in peer-reviewed journals and conferences. He contributed to 25 technic
 al innovations\, protected by over 40 patents issued or pending.\n\nSpeake
