DESCRIPTION:With the extensive development of information and communication
technologies in vertical industry applications\, industrial IoT (IIoT) sy
stems are expected to enable a wide variety of applications\, including ad
vanced manufacturing\, networked control\, and smart supply chain\, which
all exclusively hinges on the efficient cooperation and coordination among
the involved IIoT devices and infrastructures. The ubiquitous connection
among IIoT entities and the associated exchange of collaborative informati
on necessitates the achievement of accurate network synchronization\, whic
h can guarantee the temporal alignment of the critical data. However\, tra
ditional clock synchronization methods inherent to the high network overhe
ad\, insufficient achievable accuracy\, and the lack of security mechanism
s will inevitably deteriorate the overall performance of the IIoT systems.
To enhance the temporal correlation of the distributed devices and data i
 n large-scale IIoT systems\, designing industry-oriented synchronization p
rotocols in terms of accuracy improvement\, resource-saving\, and security
  enhancement is necessary.\n\nVirtual: https://events.vtools.ieee.org/m/25
