DESCRIPTION:Ambient computing has been gaining momentum to be one of the mo
st impactful technological developments for the next decade. At its core\,
it requires the devices to interact with the environments and users seaml
essly and ubiquitously. Our era is witnessing a rapid development in the f
ield of human activity monitoring\, indoor localization\, and health care
systems. This talk presents a review of some recent work based on the PhD
internship projects that I hosted at Google from 2017 to 2020\, related to
health sensing and human activity recognition based on wearables\, radar
and RFID technologies. Aspects related to miniaturized wearable antenna fo
r cross-body communication and radar antenna array miniaturization are dis
cussed. Applications and future trend of this research will be also presen
ted. This talk may also be interesting to young professionals who want to
understand more about what the internship project looks like and what the
 expectation is.\n\nCo-sponsored by: Staracom\; Polytechnique Montréal\n\n
