DESCRIPTION:Program for Tuesday\, March 30th\, 2021:\n\nAgenda:\n\nThe pres
entation will be technical covering different topologies and applications:
\n\n- Introduction to GE Power Conversion and MV products ~5 minutes\n- MV
VFD Principles an Topologies ~10 minutes\n- Medium Power MV drive ~15 min
utes\n- Low Power MV Drive ~15 minutes\n- Modular Multilevel converter ~ 1
5 minutes\n- Load Commutated Inverter ~ 15 minutes\n- Q&A ~ 15 minutes\n\n
Abstract\n\nThis webinar will cover the basics of medium voltage (MV) vari
able frequency drive principles\, different power semiconductor devices an
d converter topologies used in MV drives. Various MV drive industrial appl
ications along with drive selection criteria and associated international
standards like IEC and UL applicable to MV drives certification will also
be discussed.\n\n"Fine Print"\n\n- The webinar is free for active IEEE mem
bers.\n- There is a $5 registration fee for people who are not active IEEE
members.\n\n- The fee must be paid in advance through the registration pr
ocess below (credit card through PayPal) in order to receive the link to t
he webinar.\n- Upon successful payment of the fee\, you will receive 2 ema
ils: one from noreply_vtools@ieee.org with title "IEEE vTools Reservation
Confirmation\," and a second from service@intl.paypal.com with title "Your
payment to The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers\, Inc."
Both emails are required to ensure your payment was successfully processed
.\n- Incomplete non-member registrations (payment not received) will be de
leted.\n- A link to the WebEx registration will be sent to the email addre
ss you provided during this vTools registration\, on March 29th\, by "IEEE
Northern Alberta". Please double check the spelling of your email address
when registering.\n- The mechanism used to email the WebEx link requires
you to accept the IEEE Privacy Policy and consent to receiving emails from
IEEE. If you have not opted-in to receive email communications from IEEE\
, or have opted-out of email communications from IEEE in the past\, you mi
ght not receive the email containing the WebEx link. IEEE members can go
to https://www.ieee.org/ieee-privacyportal/app/ibp and ensure that "Local
IEEE Communications" is checked under the category Communication Preferenc
es > Member Benefits. Former members and non members who opted-out of emai
l communications in the past can contact the [IEEE Support Center](https:/
/supportcenter.ieee.org/) to find out how to adjust their email communicat
ion preferences.\n- You will need to complete the brief WebEx event regist
ration prior to joining the webinar.\n\nCo-sponsored by: General Electric
(GE) - Power Conversion Group\n\nSpeaker(s): Dusshyant L. Vyas\, Senior Pr
oduct Manager\, Kiran Kumar Vadlapati\n\nVirtual: https://events.vtools.ie
