DESCRIPTION:Please join this webinar with Dr. Anurag K Srivastava\, Associa
te Professor of electric power engineering at Washington State University.
1 PDH will be provided to attendees who will be tracked and proven to be
in attendance for this entire webinar.\n\nAbstract:\n\nDuring adverse weat
her or cyber events\, keeping the power on to critical facilities such as
hospitals and fire department is essential. A number of resources are avai
lable with the integration of distributed energy resources (DER) to improv
e the sustainability in normal operation and resiliency of the critical lo
ads during adverse events in active distribution system. There is a need f
or formal metrics to quantify the resiliency of the distribution electric
grid\, or different configurations of the same network. Additionally\, adv
anced algorithms and tools are needed for the situational awareness and de
cision support to coordinate the DER management strategies for the distrib
ution grid operators. This talk will cover the basics of DER integration\,
machine learning for estimating behind the meter DER\, defining resilienc
y\, DER based restoration and a tool to study the resiliency of the DER-ri
ch electric distribution grid\n\nCo-sponsored by: IEEE PES Region 2 / Swed
