DESCRIPTION:IEEE PES Chapter Mauritius Section in collaboration with Prof.S
aifur Rahman\, Mr Eswaren Chetty Allaghery\,(Interim Chairman of IEEE Maur
itius Section) and A.Ahad JHUMKA (Advanced Mechanical & Electrical Service
s Ltd) have the pleasure to invite you to this webinar.\n\nENERGY EFFICIEN
CY IN SMART BUILDINGS THROUGH IOT SENSOR INTEGRATION.\n\nInternet of Thing
s (IoT) deployments offer a much higher value proposition if these can fun
ction in the context of smart buildings. Such advanced information and com
munication technology (ICT) applications in commercial buildings\, schools
\, libraries\, shopping centers\, etc. offer low cost but highly effective
monitoring and control opportunities. Sensors deployed in key locations c
an monitor the building environment in real-time\, collect information for
intelligent decision making\, and facilitate various services. An IoT sen
sor platform has been developed that provides a unified communication plat
form which can integrate information from disparate sources and provide on
e control hierarchy. It is a powerful\, low-cost\, open-architecture softw
are platform that can monitor and control major electrical loads (e.g.\, H
VAC\, lighting and plug loads)\, as well as solar PV systems\, energy stor
age units and other IoT sensors in commercial buildings. The platform can
provide new or legacy build-\nings with a building automation system (BAS)
or connect with existing BAS systems in large and small commercial buildi
ngs. This platform leverages machine learning algorithms to draw insights
from a deployed building’s historical operating data and occupant prefer
ences to save energy (kWh)\n\nSpeaker(s): Prof. SAIFUR RAHMAN \, \n\nVirtu
