DESCRIPTION:The IEEE Austin Joint Societies' Chapters of ComSoc\, Signal Pr
ocessing\, Consumer Electronics and EMBS and Computer are pleased to bring
a Virtual Distinguished Lecture event on\n\n“Digital Twin for 6G and In
ternet of Things”\n\nDay:\n\nMay 19\, 2021\n\nTime:\n\n9:00 am Central T
ime\n\nLocation:\n\nWebEx (Dial-in information will be provided shortly)\n
\nSPEAKER:\n\nProf. Yan Zhang\, IEEE Fellow\n\nProfessor\, Department of I
nformaticsUniversity of Oslo\, Norway\n\nAbstract\n\nIn this talk\, we mai
nly introduce our recent studies on Digital Twin (DT) for 6G\, Edge Comput
ing\, air-ground networks\, and IoT. We will first introduce the main conc
epts and challenges related to Digital Twin. Then\, we present a new scena
rio DITEN (Digital Twin Edge Networks) and the research challenges related
to offloading\, edge association and resource optimization. Throughout th
e talk\, we join DT and machine learning to add intelligence and present o
ur ideas on utilizing machine learning (e.g.\, deep reinforcement learning
\, federated learning) for low-latency\, privacy-preservation\, and energy
-efficiency in 6G and IoT networks.\n\nBIO:\n\nYan Zhang is currently a Fu
ll Professor with the Department of Informatics\, University of Oslo\, Nor
way. He received the Ph.D. degree from the School of Electrical and Electr
onics Engineering\, Nanyang Technological University\, Singapore. He recei
ved M.S. and B.S from Beihang University and Nanjing University of Post an
d Telecommunications\, respectively. His research interests include next-g
eneration wireless networks leading to 6G\, green and secure cyber-physica
l systems (e.g.\, smart grid and transport). Dr. Zhang is an Editor (or Ar
ea Editor\, Senior Editor\, Associate Editor) for several IEEE transaction

cations Society Technical Committee on Green Communications and Computing
(TCGCC). He is an IEEE Communications Society Distinguished Lecturer and I
EEE Vehicular Technology Society Distinguished Speaker. He was an IEEE Veh
icular Technology Society Distinguished Lecturer during 2016-2020. Since 2
018\, Prof. Zhang was a recipient of the global “Highly Cited Researcher
” Award (Web of Science top 1% most cited worldwide). He is Fellow of IE
EE\, Fellow of IET\, elected member of Academia Europaea (MAE)\, elected m
ember of the Royal Norwegian Society of Sciences and Letters (DKNVS)\, and
