DESCRIPTION:Vehicular ad hoc network (VANET) has been researched and achiev
ed by several organizations to develop the intelligent transportation syst
em (ITS). VANET is also a specific case of mobile ad hoc network (MANET) i
n which nodes are vehicles. The goal of the construction of a VANET networ
k is to make sure of its safety and reliability. Hence\, the development o
f VANET aims to improve transportation reliability\, optimize driving and
navigation and enhance the vehicle users safety. Vehicles can self - react
in order to avoid accidents by preventing the proximity location and tran
sporting them to the conductor. Communications in the VANET are very chall
enging and existing solutions\, for instance\, from which the Ad Hoc netwo
rking field are not adapted. Some solutions have been proposed and researc
hed for security in the VANET. However\, they have not resolved strictly V
ANET communication problems. This is due to some special features of the V
ANET\, including the high speed of vehicles\, mobility patterns of vehicle
 s. New efforts at different levels of the communications systems are requi
red to be present at the routing and security levels. In this talk we tack
le the problems of security and the mobility management in those networks.
Existing problems/solutions are showed\, issues and perspectives will be
exposed as well.\n\nSpeaker(s): Prof. Jalel Ben-Othman\, \n\nVirtual: http
