DESCRIPTION:The 19th Annual Workshop on Embedded Systems will be held again
Virtually/Online this year. Registration is required. Open to engineers a
nd students. You are encouraged to join the IEEE\, although membership is
not required\, however IEEE membership is encouraged to realize the maximu
m potential. NOTE: this is being held over two HALF day sessions - both o
n Saturdays! (October 23rd and 30th). There is a one-time non-refundable f
ee to attend and to help cover costs: $5 for all IEEE members and students
. You are encouraged to become an IEEE member and help support many such f
uture positive events/activities.\n\nEmail us for any follow up: esw2021@i
eee-sem.org\n\nIn 2020 some of the Embedded System Workshop Sponsors were:
 [Beningo Embedded Group](https://www.beningo.com/)\, Infineon\, NVIDIA\,
ARM\, iSYSTEM\, Intrepid CS\, Altair\, DataSwing LLC\, DigiKey\, [IEEE SEM
 Computer Society Chapter](http://ewh.ieee.org/r4/se_michigan/cs)\, IEEE S
EM Education Society Chapter\, Teknowledge LLC and [Oakland University Sch
ool of Engineering](http://wwwp.oakland.edu/secs/).\n\nThe aim is to disse
minate knowledge\, directly benefiting the IEEE members\, at the same time
improve the technology skills pool\, indirectly boosting the Michigan eco
nomy. Speakers and experts from the embedded systems industry will be maki
ng presentations\, and will also be available for discussions and networki
ng throughout the day. In addition to the technical presentations\, use th
is opportunity for networking with other engineers\, industry experts and
embedded enthusiasts. The theme for this year is: "Role of Embedded System
s in Electric Vehicles (EV)".\n\nEmbedded Systems are playing an important
role in the Electric Vehicle revolution. Electric vehicles now include ca
rs\, transit buses\, trucks of all sizes\, and even big-rig tractor traile
rs that are at least partially powered by electricity. Electric vehicles f
all into three main categories: Battery electric vehicles are powered by e
lectricity stored in a battery pack. Plug-in hybrids combine a gasoline or
diesel engine with an electric motor and large rechargeable battery. Fuel
cell vehicles split electrons from hydrogen molecules to produce electric
ity to run the motor. Electric vehicles are saving the climate and our liv
es. Electric vehicles have a smaller carbon footprint than gasoline-powere
d cars\, no matter where your electricity comes from. Electric vehicles ca
n charge up at home\, at work\, while you’re at the store.\n\nSee the Ag
enda for the Schedule of Events (updated frequently). NOTE: {The registrat
ion will send you a calendar invite for October 23rd\, it will be followed
by a separate calendar invite for October 30th as well\, since the Webex
link will be different. Also remember to register with your full US Postal
