DESCRIPTION:FREE Webinar\n\nHigh reliability electronic assemblies and sub-
systems require protection from the effects of moisture and corrosive cont
aminants that are ever present in the environment by which they are expect
ed to perform. Methods to protect critical electronics include sealed dry
nitrogen filled shelters\, enclosure environment control (humidity & tempe
rature) and the use of various conformal coating chemistries.\n\nWhile con
formal coatings do NOT provide a hermetic seal from the environment\, they
are utilized to provide a hydrophobic moisture barrier that significantly
reduces moisture absorption over time. Conformal coatings comprised of Po
lyurethane\, Epoxy\, Acrylic\, Silicones & Poly-Para-Xylene (Parylene)\, h
ave material advantages & disadvantages based on cost\, process and the le
vel of desired environmental protection. Material property selection facto
rs include ease of application\, rework\, uniformity of coverage\, dielect
ric isolation\, moisture\, chemical\, fungal and resistance to UV exposure
breakdown.\n\nTopics Covered-\n\n- Background and overview of various con
formal coatings\n- Characteristics\, advantages and challenges of coatings
and methods\n- Other techniques which utilize custom Chemical Vapor Depos
ition (CVD) processes.\n- Review an example of a sub-assembly Acrylic conf
