DESCRIPTION:IEEE Robotics and Automation Society IIUC SBC in association wi
th IEEE - IIUC Student Branch Chapter organized a 2-day long “Workshop o
n getting started with Microcontroller & Robotics” at International Isla
mic University Chittagong (IIUC)\, Chittagong on 29-30th May 2021. The Wor
kshop included a Hands-on session and expert lectures by Sayed Tanimun Has
an\, Chairperson - IEEE Robotics and Automation Society IIUC SBC\, Interna
tional Islamic University Chittagong (IIUC).\n\nThe formal inauguration wa
s held at 07:00 PM via the Zoom platform. Around 63 participants took part
in this event. Welcoming the Chief Guest and other dignitaries\, Sayed Ta
nimun Hasan made all the students familiar with the basics of Robotics & M
icrocontrollers. He explained the need for proper guidance to learn microc
ontrollers independently using Circuit Design & Simulation. He pointed out
some of the basics of microcontroller-based project development. He also
spoke about his love towards junior students and how they can achieve mile
stones with a little encouragement. Besides he promised IEEE Robotics and
Automation Society IIUC SBC will organize more interactive workshops like
this.\n\nHe spoke about the steps of developing a Microcontroller based pr
oject and demonstrated multiple projects using a microcontroller. He discu
ssed and used tinkercad\, Arduino IDE\, proteus in the workshop. He highli
ghted the overview of the workshop with core aims\, objectives\, design an
d areas. He finally advised the participants to learn to remove the gap be
tween content and pedagogy by integration\, a collaboration of other depar
tments and with other programs and also suggested to focus on the linkage
between the progress in society and research on Microcontroller & Robotics
by conducting research in the field of Embedded system\, Robotics\, Indus
trial automation\, Sensor data processing\, IoT\, Machine learning etc fro
m a long term career prospect. The participants had an opportunity to inte
ract with the speaker\, get their queries clarified and take the initial s
tep of their professional future. The event closed with thanksgiving with
all the participants.\n\nSpeaker(s): Sayed Tanimun Hasan \, \n\nVirtual: h
