If you want to pursue a university course in English or you want to gain approval for certain vis as\, you need to pass the course. People who aim to work abroad or study a broad need to be proficient enough in English\, and IELTS is used as proof that they have achieved that level of proficiency.\n\nIt has been said – “If you talk to a man in a language he understands\, that goes to hi s head. If you talk to him in his language\, that goes to his heart.”\n\ nOn 8th July\, 2021\, IEEE BUBT Student Branch organized a webinar based o n "The need of IELTS for career building".\n\nThe speaker for the webinar was Afnan Salim\, who is an English language trainer at Career.com-Banglad esh\, invigilator of British Council Sylhet and Executive member of MUMUNA .\n\nThe main purpose of the webinar was to tell people the necessity of p roficiency in English. Most people have misconceptions about IELTS and alm ost half of our students don’t know about the procedure either\, so the purpose was to give a vast idea about what are the benefits of knowing goo d English\, what is the procedure of having that skill and the process of IELTS.\n\nFirst of all\, she talked about the necessity of proficiency in English and how much it is needed for our career building and other many s ectors. Then she told us the common challenges which we face to achieve go od skills in English. Moreover\, she gives us tips on how we can overcome those challenges and says the benefits of using English in the workplace. IELTS is an examination which prefers how skilled we are in English\, not only for speaking but also for writing and reading and it is the first ste p to going abroad for study. That’s because many students have queries a bout this examination and the speaker answers all the queries in her brief as the test types\, when and who can take part in the examination\, what is the educational eligibility to give the IELTS\, how to register\, how m uch it costs and what is the marks distribution of I She also said that 34 00 institutions around the world have accepted students with a 6+ band in IELTS. So\, it was a very informative webinar. The last speaker answers qu estions of some students with her personal experiences and shares them wit h us. The noticeable achievement was that above 95 people gave feedback on the webinar. In total\, more than 100 people joined in the webinar while the number of female participants was 34.
