DESCRIPTION:Speaker:\n\nMr. GEORGE LIN PRINCE\n\nSenior Research Engineer a
t Mobis Technical Center of India\n\nThis webinar is organized by the IEEE
RVR & JC section on Computer Aided Engineering and Autonomous Vehicles in
presence of student members and respectable faculty of the IEEE RVR & JC
section.\n\nThe purpose of the webinar was to give an idea about Vehicular
communication systems and their role in providing an automated-driving sy
stem which replaces the current manual mode of Vehicle driving\, the webin
ar was presented by Mr. George Lin Prince who has 2 years of experience as
a Research Engineer at Hyundai Mobis Technical Centre of India\, he had a
lso published a Research paper and has many achievements to his name.\n\nC
omputer Aided Engineering helps us to visualize and virtually perform the
experiments which are cumbersome in reality and this helps us to create an
Intelligence unit which perceives things like we humans do in day to day
life. This webinar actually deals with these kind of Intelligence units wh
ich are programmed manually and installed in vehicles to make them autonom
ous. The speaker elucidated the working mechanism of these autonomous Vehi
cles and the hardware required to do the job. The themes discussed were\;
Driving task\, Goals of perception\, Vehicle hardware\, etc.\, the speaker
in the first sense detailed the need of an Automated-Vehicle and later on
discussed about its drawbacks\, complexity and misuses. He also mentioned
the ongoing research on this field and the various components used by dif
ferent car manufacturing Companies. Later the participants interacted with
the speaker and clarified their doubts regarding the topic.\n\nThis webin
ar helped the participants to understand Vehicular communication systems a
s an emerging type of networks in which vehicles and roadside units are th
e communicating nodes\, providing each other with information such as safe
ty\, warnings and traffic information and also the Autonomous cars integra
ted with vehicular communication systems can be more effective in avoiding
 crashes and traffic congestions.\n\nGuntur \, Andhra Pradesh\, India\, 52
