DESCRIPTION:A key measure of a productive tech ecosystem in any society is
the successful transition of new graduates from academia into industry. Wh
ile the academic system primarily focuses on building a broader knowledge
base\, a very important factor for successful transition of the trainees i
s their industry-readiness. Hence\, the need for dynamically evolving indu
stry-academia collaborations.\n\nWhile technological trends largely dictat
e the needs of the dynamically evolving industrial ecosystem\, recent time
s have highlighted the need for easily scalable methods that can help effe
ctively empower students transitioning into industry.\n\nThis panel discus
sion aims to focus on the dynamically evolving requirements of the tech ec
osystem and the challenges and trends that drive current and next-gen indu
stry-academia interfaces.\n\nEach panelist will provide a short\, pre-reco
rded presentation extending over 5-10 minutes with their thoughts/perspect
ives on the topic in discussion\, including trends\, challenges and propos
ed solutions. Once all the pre-recorded presentations by the panelists hav
e been run\, a live QA session moderated by Rossitza Marinova and Deyasini
 Majumdar will follow.\n\nOrganized by Deyasini Majumdar\, Chair\, IEEE R7
Education Activities Committee & Rossitza Marinova\, IEEE R7 Training Co-
ordinator\n\nPanelists:\n\n- Witold Kinser – Professor University of M
anitoba & Ex-Vice President\, IEEE EAB\n\n- Mohammad Moshirpour – Softwa
re Engineering Teaching Chair and MEng Program Director\, University of Ca
