DESCRIPTION:NOTICE - This session will be paid for by the North Jersey Sect
ion PES as a courtesy to our members and prospective members during these
challenging times of COVID-19. There will be no charge for participation a
nd Continuing Education Unit credits.\n\nThis session is being offered as
a GoToMeeting (details below).\n\nThe seminar will cover:\n\nDistribution
Voltage Regulation Series: Methods to Regulate the Voltage on the Distribu
tion Grid\n\nIntroduction: This is a 10 - session presentation meant to as
sist engineers in designing the proper voltage regulation\narchitecture fo
r the distribution grid. Each session takes approximately 45-50 minutes wi
th a 10-15\nminute period at the end for questions. The presentations shou
ld prove beneficial to technicians and\nengineers responsible for distribu
tion standards and design\, distribution planning engineers\, power\nquali
ty engineers as well as SCADA/ communications engineers. Below is a brief
description of each\nsession.\n\nPart 3) LTCs\, Regulators and their Contr
ols\n\nThis session covers the series applied voltage regulation devices a
nd the settings in the regulator/LTC\ncontrols. Settings covered include b
andcenter\, Bandwidth\, time delay\, and Line Drop Compensation.\nBlocking
of the controls due to tap position\, abnormal voltages and currents exce
eding the rating of the\ndevice are also covered.\n\nPart 4) Capacitor Ban
ks and Control\n\nThis session covers shunt connected capacitor banks\, bo
th fixed and switched. It also covers single\nphase operated versus three-
phase individual operated capacitor switching. It also discusses the types
\nof switches used with capacitor banks as well as the use of line post se
nsors and neutral current sensors.\nFinally it covers the different contro
l modes (Voltage\, Var and current) as well as overrides\n(temperature\, t
ime and remote).\n\nSpeaker(s): Bob McFetridge\, \n\nAgenda: \nTwo hours o
f instruction will be provided.\n\nThis session is being offered as a GoTo
Meeting:\n\nhttps://global.gotomeeting.com/join/997477389\n\nYou must regi
ster through VTools in advance in order to receive your CEU Certificate. P
LEASE NOTE: Your certificate will go to the email address you use to regis
ter through VTools and will have your name exactly as you enter it when re
gistering. It will come from “IEEE Certificate <eab-ceuadmin@ieee.org>
” Please make sure this address is in your safe senders list. If you hav
e any problems with receipt of your CEU Certificates\, please contact eab-
