DESCRIPTION:Please plan to attend the IEEE Dallas CVT Webinar Tue Nov 16\,
2021 at 1:45PM Dallas time (presentation begins at 2:00PM sharp).\n\nTitle
: Technology led transformation at Telstra Australia\n\nSpeaker: Shailin S
ehgal\, Product Enablement Technology Executive\, Networks & IT\n\nNOTE\n\
nThis presentation will be hosted over Webex with the presenter located in
Australia which is 17 hours ahead of Dallas. Please note the local start
time for the event.\n\nABSTRACT\n\nThis presentation and discussion will f
ocus on transformative network technology which has widely been in use for
webscale by the hyper scalers such as Amazon\, Microsoft and Google\, as
it applies to the transformative efforts at a leading Australian multi-ser
vices provider\, Telstra.\n\nIn 2018 Telstra faced challenging technical a
nd business conditions that were expected to continue for several years. T
hese challenges included ongoing pressure on Average Revenue Per User (ARP
U) and further negative impact of the National Broadband Network (NBN). In
Australia NBN is an entity owned by the national government that is attem

 expansion.\n\nIn June 2018 Telstra announced a program called T22 - a 4 y
ear strategy to lead the Australian market by simplifying its operations a
nd product set\, improving customer experience and reducing its cost base.
T22 is focused on delivering six key outcomes covering customer experienc
e\, simplification\, network superiority\, employees\, cost reduction and
strengthening the balance sheet by FY2022. In September of 2021\, a progra
m called T25 was announced designed to complement T22 and finish the trans
formation with additional focus on improving the customer experience\, net
work and technology.\n\nBio\n\nShailin Sehgal joined Telstra in June 2019
to lead Product Enablement Technology. In this role he is responsible for
ensuring that Telstra delivers brilliant customer experiences utilising th
e awesome talents of our people with highly resilient product platforms on
the most reliable networks in the world. His team has the ownership of al
l technology development including lifecycle operation for Telstra Product
s & Solutions\, with accountability across all Mobile (including 5g and co
nverged core)\, IoT\, Enterprise\, Data & Security\, Broadband & Media\, a
nd Voice & Video platforms. Shailin is a global executive who most recentl
y spent 3 years as Executive VP of R&D at Mavenir\, a telecom software ven
dor based in Texas\, USA (focused on the 4G LTE and 5G core & messaging do
mains). Prior to joining Mavenir\, he was Senior VP of Product Development
and Architecture at Indian Service Provider Reliance Jio. His career span
s over 25 years in the telecommunication domain\, with senior executive po
sitions in product management and engineering with vendors and operators i
ncluding Genband\, Sonus\, Verizon and Nortel. Shailin has a Master of Sci
ence in Computer Science from University of Texas at Dallas and a Bachelor
of Engineering in Electronics Engineering from Nagpur University\, India.
