DESCRIPTION:Research grant writing can be a time-consuming\, daunting and d
ifficult to navigate process\, particularly for early career researchers.
This presentation will shed light on some of the opportunities and challen
ges\, with respect to competitive grant application processes. Considerati
ons relevant to multi/interdisciplinary teams involving engineering\, info
rmation systems and technology-based disciplines will be discussed\, and a
series of practical suggestions for grant writing presented. The talk wil
l focus on the grant writing process as a mechanism for research developme
nt\, both in view of refining projects and forming or enhancing research c
ollaborations. Early planning and drafting\, seeking mentorship and the va
lue of collaboration are emphasised\, among other strategies.\n\nSpeaker(s
