DESCRIPTION:CIS Chapter\, IEEE UP Section (CIS11) organized a Lecture Serie
s on "Computational Intelligence". The speaker of the lecture was Dr. Teen
a Sharma\, Dept. of Electrical Engineering\, Indian Institute of Technolog
y Kanpur\, India.\n\nSpeaker(s): Teena Sharma\, \n\nAgenda: \nAbstract of
the talk:\n\nArtificial Intelligence offers various popular and efficient
digital image processing tools to increase the robustness of vision-based
applications. These applications depend upon the quality of the input imag
e with fine textural details. The quality of an image can be described by
the visible information such as illumination\, color\, gradients\, etc. wh
ich gets affected due to various atmospheric conditions i.e.\, haze and no
n-uniform illumination. If haze particles are present\, the transmission o
f the reflected light rays to the observer gets obstructed and Airlight in
creases. Thus\, the resulting image appears hazy. On the other hand\, the
non-uniform illumination condition produces the dark appearance of the cap
tured scene resulting in loss of visible features. Therefore\, image enhan
cement is an essential and important pre-processing step to restore the te
xtural information with fine image details which aims to increase the robu
stness of vision-based applications. This talk will discuss the artificial
intelligent algorithms able to deal with outdoor weather conditions and i
llumination variations.\n\nKanpur\, Uttar Pradesh\, India\, 208016\, Virtu
